The Trident of the seas is a magical staff that requires 75 Magic to wield. It is the only staff, in game, to have a built-in combat spell that attacks 20% faster than any other staff.
Tridents are obtained as a rare slayer task drop from cave krakens (with a level of 87 Slayer), the Boss Kraken, or Vet'ion. An uncharged trident is dropped by the normal cave krakens, while the boss kraken can drop a fully charged trident. Similar to Barrows equipment, the trident is only tradeable when either uncharged or fully charged.
The staff can hold up 2,500 charges when fully charged. To charging the Trident, you'll need 12,500 fire runes, 2,500 death runes, 2,500 chaos runes, and 2,500,000 gp (2.5 million). Each charge will cost 5 fire runes, 1 death rune, 1 chaos rune and 1,000 gp. Adding all these costs up, you'll be spending 1,390 gp each charge you use. To charge the trident, talk to Aubury at home, teleport to the Abyss, and then talk to the dark mage.
Contrary to popular belief, the Trident of the Seas does NOT gain experience at a reduced rate. Unlike regular combat spells, the trident does not reward a base xp for each cast. Instead, players are rewarded experience for each point of damage dealt. The experience gained is 2 exp per damage dealt.

Maximum hit
The max hit dealt by the trident is dependent on the player's current Magic level. Stat-boost and magic damage bonuses will modify the max hit of the spell. At level 75 magic, the base damage is 20, this increases up to 28 at level 99 (29 if boosted). Likewise, stat-reductions will lower the damage, but the minimum max hit will never fall below 20; even if the player's Magic level is reduced below 75.
